Wildfire Property Consulting: Home Wildfire Prevention, Community Evacuation Planning & Preparedness.

One of the biggest things for all people to think of at all times is situational awareness and truly it simply means, learn to recognize the hazards and risks then prepare to deal with them so they do not turn into catastrophic emergencies. Elkhorn Wildfire LLC can be hired to come out and first meet with you and listen to your concerns then lay out what are your hazards and risks and then build a plan so you will know how to mitigate wildfire threats, floods, and other disasters before they arise. We also can work with communities, to put together evacuation plans and explain what to do should the time come to evacuate from an impending emergency. As fire chief of my community in Haines, Oregon I have worked with patrons of the fire district to lessen their risks by meeting with them and advising them how to go about doing these things. My company Elkhorn Wildfire LLC is there for you. Give us a call @ 541-239-8415 to set up your appointment.

Who would have thought that things we use as useful tools like power transmission and distribution lines are a high risk to us and our surrounding communities at certain times of the year when things get very dry from lack of moisture and we have high winds.  I have learned over the years that when dealing with these kinds of things, to be prepared is too, “Expect the Unexpected to happen.” I am in the process of putting plans in play to work with Power companies to show them how they can lessen the risks to their equipment and the public by being proactive in planning and implementing procedures that help reduce risks to us all. Remember what we have seen not only in California but Oregon and Washington as well, with extremely dry vegetation and high winds which are recipes for disaster, “plan ahead and be prepared.”

In closing: “remember, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.”  What we put forth in being prepared for fires, floods, and other disasters costs us much less in the long run than doing nothing and then being faced with an emergency that is just too big to overcome.
